The pain of passion

Like trying to break free This internal prison Wont let me breathe The warden of societal norms Safely guard my imaginations Though my spirit wants to soar Beyond my natural limitations Yet these bars of responsibility Gently remind me of bills The pain of passion A dreadful weight to drag Hope of a prospective future A longing yet to be fulfilled Oh a ray of sunlight A constant reminder A promise to be established If only I could learn to fall in love With the process of becoming Maybe I could learn how to breathe.
